The Garlic Clubb planted its first garlic in Quebec’s Eastern Townships in October 2015, just outside of Montreal. Initially, we directed our business towards the Seed Garlic market and grew 17 different varieties. Our goal was to establish a full range of garlic cultivars from the 10 main garlic groups. In 2016, we started experimenting with the production of Black Garlic. We developed a product which we were thrilled with and began marketing it,... and it took off!
After receiving Organic Certification and Canadian Food Safety License — C.F.I.A. — for our fresh garlic as well as our Black Garlic, our company grew and evolved. Today, the Garlic Clubb is now Canada’s largest producer of Organic Black Garlic, selling coast to coast.
Once we found that our growing capacity could not meet our Black Garlic production needs, we suspended our sale of seed garlic. We have left the section “Cultivars” on the Garlic Clubb website since it is a valuable reference for growers.
We have been producing consistently high-quality Black Garlic for more than 3 years. While garlic bulbs are still the mainstay of our company, and we have also begun to produce Peeled Black Garlic Cloves and Black Garlic Paste. These culinary delights are targeted to the professional chef and dedicated foodie markets — ideal for those who are familiar with Black Garlic's splendour, and want to include it in their cuisine in an easy to use format.
